Buying & Setup Guide
Darts affords the unique opportunity for players to compete under real-world, professional conditions with minimal cost and space requirements. Whether you’re playing Junior League at home or at a local club, this guide will help you get set up quickly and easily.
Purchasing Your Equipment
Amazon carries most of the equipment you will need, though specialized darts retailers will have a wider variety and higher-quality options.
A-Z Darts is a popular U.S.-based online darts retailer that has a large selection of boards, darts, and accessories.
Darts Corner is a popular European online darts retailer that typically offers the most competitive pricing on darts and accessories (even after factoring in shipping to the United States). Large or heavy products like dartboards and lights are easier to buy domestically.
To get started throwing, everyone needs the two basic pieces of a darts setup: A bristle (not electronic) dartboard and a set of steel-tip (not soft-tip) darts.

The following are examples within the listed price ranges. Beyond material quality (tungsten vs steel vs brass) there are no “better” or “worse” darts, only ones that feel better or worse when you throw them. There are dozens of quality sets available for under $20, and hundreds under $50.
Standard options: At least 80% tungsten, $10 - $30
Premium options: At least 90% tungsten, $30 - $50
When you purchase your first set we recommend getting 5 extra sets of flights and shafts, which will incur damage and eventually break as your skills improve and you begin throwing darts into each other.
Physical Space
Players need at least 2 feet of horizontal wall space, and a clear area extending back 9 to 10 feet from the wall.
